Approximately 25 students will be selected through a competitive process organized by the PPPL/Simons Hidden Symmetries Program. The school lasts for five days, and each participant receives full support for travel, lodging and per diem expenses. Expenses are paid for attendees and lecturers.


Application requirements

   Successful candidates are:

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student in any phase of training, or first or second year postdoctoral fellow
  • Specializing in applied mathematics, computer science, fluid dynamics or plasma physics or experienced in at least one of these areas

   Application materials required:

  1. A cover letter briefly stating motivation for application and level of financial support needed (including travel, accommodation, and meals).
  2. Curriculum Vitae with a list of publications and professional presentations.
  3. Letter of reference from your primary advisor sent directly to [email protected]. Applicants are responsible for contacting their advisor to have the letter of reference sent by the application deadline (July 1, 2019)
