Silke Glas is a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University in the Department of Computer Science. Her research interests include partial differential equations (PDEs) and in particular model reduction of time-dependent and nonlinear PDEs, such as wave equations, Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations and variational inequalities. In the matter of time-dependent approaches, she is interested in stable space-time formulations of those equations.

In terms of the Hidden Symmetries and Fusion Energy project, her focus will be to develop robust, multi-objective PDE-constrained optimization methods for optimizing magnetic fields and coil shapes.
