Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA; Applied Plasma Physics; Ph.D., 2010
Antoine Cerfon got his M.Sc. in Nuclear Science and Engineering from Ecole des Mines de Paris, France (2005) and his Ph.D. in Applied Plasma Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2010). He is currently an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University.
His research work focuses on the development of analytic fluid and kinetic models and of fast, high order numerical methods for the study of plasmas in magnetic confinement fusion reactors and of intense charged particle beams in particle accelerators.
